Brent Borrell is Managing Director of the Centre for International Economics (TheCIE.com.au). He has built up a thorough understanding of the economic and institutional workings of markets through his career as a private consultant and as an analyst at the World Bank. He has worked for a wide range of clients in the private and public sector in Australia and around the world.
Brent has conducted comprehensive reviews of many economic issues in many countries on topics such as agricultural production, marketing and trade, energy markets, metal manufacturing; R&D evaluations, foreign investment, governance and institution building, aviation, shipping, immigration, urban transport and water pricing.
He has worked in the United States, various countries of the European Community, Switzerland, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, India, Iran, Macedonia, Mauritius, Nepal, the Philippines, Tanzania, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and New Zealand.
In addition to many publicly available reports, in recent times Brent has worked on mining tenements, the EU/Central American WTO Banana case, forestry and sugar in Queensland, a biosecurity strategy, a horticultural strategic plan, nutrition and health labelling and the export market development scheme. |
