Thank you for your participation at Outlook 2010. Please find below information that will assist you in your role.
All speakers and chairs automatically receive complimentary registration for the two day conference. Your complimentary registration entitles you to:
If you have any special needs (for example mobility, medical, dietary) please let your liaison officer know so we can assist where possible.
The session requires each speaker to make a formal 15 minute presentation. Once all speakers have presented, the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Your profile and photo should be sent to your liaison officer. This will be included on the Outlook 2010 website. The profile should be around 150 - 200 words and include the following information:
Please send a colour digital photo (head and shoulders) in jpeg format with your profile.
Please complete and sign the deed of release form and return it to your liaison officer by mail, fax or email.
The deed grants permission for ABARE to reproduce your presentation/paper, including publication on ABARE’s Outlook 2010 website. ABARE may also use photographs and audio visual footage of you at the conference for promotional purposes.
Please complete the registration form and return it to your liaison officer by mail, fax or email.
Your speech should be approximately 15 minutes (a 15 minute speech is approximately 1800 words). Feedback from previous Outlook conference delegates indicates the audience does not appreciate a presentation beyond the time limit, or one that consists of reading from the formal paper.
At the conclusion of all presentations in your session, the chair will invite the audience to ask questions. To maximise opportunities for discussion in the time available, it is imperative that answers are succinct.
You will need to prepare your own PowerPoint presentation. Please minimise the number of words and figures on each slide as well as the number of slides. The ABARE speakers are advised to have no more than 15 slides and to use graphics, charts and pictures in preference to text on the slides. Contact your liaison officer if you need any advice on your presentation.
Please email your presentation to your liaison officer by 22 February 2010 to ensure it will be preloaded onto a network computer at the conference venue. Email files should not exceed 5Mb. For larger files, please copy your presentation onto a CD and post it to your liaison officer.
We recommend you bring a backup version on CD or USB drive with you on the day.
A laptop will be available at the conference and your liaison officer can arrange time for you to check through your presentation or make any last minute changes if required.
Your presentation/paper will be made available on ABARE’s Outlook 2010 website at the end of your session, unless you advise otherwise.
